Fall Activities on the North Shore

Briar Barn Inn is in the heart of the North Shore and surrounded by many great options for fall activities. Here are some of our favorite places to visit in the area and make sure to keep an eye out for our fall specials at our Inn.

Visit Local Farms

Russell Orchards

Enjoy apple picking, hayrides, and pumpkin patches at Russell Orchards. Visit their barn market for seasonal produce, fresh cider donuts, and selection of house wines. And don’t forget to stop by the barnyard and say hello to their farm animals.

Appleton Farms

“Rolling grasslands, grazing livestock, stone walls, vegetable crops, and historic farm buildings comprise this 1,000-acre pastoral landscape, offering a rare glimpse into New England’s agricultural past. Start your visit at the white farmhouse affectionately called the “Old House,” and easily find your way to our many hiking and walking trails. Follow the paths to Sunset Hill, Wilson’s Field, Briar Hill, The Great Pasture, The Plains, and beyond.”

Visit The Trustees to learn more about this property and upcoming events.

Marini Farm

This family-friendly farm offers a 1-acre corn maze AND an 8-acre corn maze. Kids can also enjoy their 70′ Jumping Pillow, 50′ Giant Tube Slide, Pirate Ship Play Structure, and much more!

Local Libations

Create your own beer tour by visiting these nearby breweries and tasting their seasonal flavors– Ipswich Ale Brewery, True North Ale Company, and Great Marsh Brewing. If you’re looking for something other than beer, try 1634 Meadery, Mill River Winery, or Privateer Rum Distillery.
