The 18th century neighboring property, the Perley-Lambert-Jewett House, is the perfect addition to Briar Barn Inn. We are excited to present our plans to the town, highlighting the architectural significance of this home and the barn structure on the property in keeping with the Rowley Historic District Guidelines.
With this new acquisition, Briar Barn Inn is planning to restore the home's facade and preserve the barn while creating additional lodging and guest parking. From the article by Jim Sullivan: "Historical Commission Clerk Sara Bourque said in an email, that she's confident Forsythe will do an excellent job restoring the property". She has over a decade of experience renovating and operating historic properties. in 2007, Forsythe opened Willowdale Estate, a historic fieldstone mansion from 1902, for weddings and events after an extensive renovation.
“Briar Forsythe has created a beautiful and welcoming destination in our historic town. With the new addition of 103 Main Street, and her skillful restoration efforts, Briar Barn Inn will continue to make an important statement for both preservation and hospitality in Rowley and beyond. I believe that this expansion will enhance the inn's popularity and presence in our community, and that guests will continue to return year after year. I am grateful for their leadership, experience, and thoughtful vision for the future of Rowley,” said Barbara Breaker, a local resident and small business owner.
